Zusammenfassung

Als Optimierung der Untersuchung bei mediastinalen und pulmonalen Raumforderungen sind T₁-betonte Spinecho-Sequenzen TR 500 msec/TE 17 msec in transversaler und frontaler Schnittführung vor und nach Kontrastmittelgabe zu empfehlen. Diese Untersuchungstechnik ermöglicht jeweils eine optimale anatomische Darstellung und nach Kontrastmittelgabe eine relative T₂-Tumorinformation, ohne den Nachteil einer Reduktion des Signal-zu-Rausch-Verhältnisses in Kauf nehmen zu müssen.

Summary

The optimal technique for examining mediastinal masses is the use of T₂ weighted spin-echo sequences (TR 500 msec/TE 17 msec) in transverse and coronal sliceorientation pre and post contrast application. This setup provides an excellent morphological depiction of anatomy and pathology as well as T₂ comparable information about tumor structure without the disadvantage of a reduction of the signal-to-noise ratio.
